Hey I’m Kate!

I’m an Auckland, New Zealand based thirty-something film reviewer, writer & blogger and this it onetakekate.com

onetakekate.com touches: on ‘now showing’ film reviews, cinema trends, cinema and film production news and the latest released books to read or DVDs and Blu-Rays to watch. As well as keeping a film lover’s eye on trending make-up, health & beauty, sneakers and street fashion with a rock or hip-hop edge, restaurant & café reviews, recipes, product reviews, cool things to improve your home and garden, wanderlust-inducing travel destinations and activities, opinion pieces, a spotlight on worthy charities and advocacies and interviews with today’s innovative and aspirational characters.

Kate’s worked in a variety of different fields including the music industry, TV production industry and social media; plus non-glam jobs like customer service, logistics and sales.

Currently a social media community manager and freelance writer and blogger; Kate also writes for NZ lifestyle blog This Adulting Life.com and will soon be returning to her music reviewer roots by contributing live music reviews to premium NZ photography blog Ambient Light. Kate uses her Bachelor of Communications degree in Media Studies and Marketing Communication to help decipher the evolving world of entertainment for her audience.

Previously Kate has written for Groove Guide, Rip It Up, NZ Musician, Muzic.net.nz and Bride & Groom Magazine NZ.

Kate has interviewed a lot of different personalities and bands such as; Dave Bautista, Ladi6, Richie Allan, Avenged Sevenfold, Cannibal Corpse and Parkway Drive to name a few.

Next up for Kate is planning and saving for buying her first home with her Husbandito Leon (together for 19 years, married for 4…), hitting the road and seeing a lot more of New Zealand to commit to Insta-memory, taking flight to experience some of the big wide world past Aotearoa’s shores, writing a novel or two plus more of all the stuff I’m currently loving…who knows what’s next when you’re having this much fun.
