LONG SHOT movie review

It takes a lot for a rom-com to really charm me and wow did Long Shot do that! I’m a big fan of both Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron so I had high hopes that this was going to deliver, especially with the brilliance of Jonathan Levine on directing duties and the power trio of Rogen, Levine and Adam Goldberg creating the screenplay for this intelligent romantic comedy.

Ahh all the warm fuzzy feels of an excellent rom-com, Long Shot with my man Seth Rogen and the beautiful Charlize Theron, this was such a good ride, it’s so whip-smart funny, there’s a lot of dialogue about equality for women in this which I thought was really cool. Jonathan Levine has done a superb job of directing this one. There’s so many wonderful, lovely moments, cool pop culture things and just ultimately seeing Seth Rogen pash Charlize Theron is something that I didn’t know I needed in my life but you know what? I got to see it a lot and it was AWESOME! So look, great, awesome rom-com feels, really good time, lots of laughs, great dialogue just a perfect little rom-com all packaged up in a little heart shaped bow!

SYNOPSIS:
Fred Flarsky (Seth Rogen) is a gifted and free-spirited journalist with an affinity for trouble. Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron) is one of the most influential women in the world. Smart, sophisticated, and accomplished, she’s a powerhouse diplomat with a talent for…well, mostly everything. The two have nothing in common, except that she was his babysitter and childhood crush. When Fred unexpectedly reconnects with Charlotte, he charms her with his self-deprecating humor and his memories of her youthful idealism. As she prepares to make a run for the Presidency, Charlotte impulsively hires Fred as her speechwriter, much to the dismay of her trusted advisors. A fish out of water on Charlotte’s elite team, Fred is unprepared for her glamourous lifestyle in the limelight. However, sparks fly as their unmistakable chemistry leads to a round-the-world romance and a series of unexpected and dangerous incidents.

There’s a lot of reasons to love Long Shot!
