When I’m in Auckland City, I’m always pushing the agenda to have lunch at Revive Cafe, I love all the amazing plant based meals they create and their cookbooks; as well as what they stand for in terms of ethics, health and ecologically responsible takeaway packaging.  Encouraged to create a healthy food alternative for schools, community groups and charities to sell in order to raise funds for their projects anywhere in New Zealand; Revive Cafe has created the Alive Fundraising site where you can sell Frooze Balls (flavours: Original, Cranberry, Peanut Butter, Apricot, Banana, Salted Maple, Fudgetastic, Cool Mint & Cacao, Gingernut) and Revive Cookbooks to gain 40% profit margins ($20 per fundraiser box of Frooze Balls and $12 per cookbook!). In June 2017, in honour of the upcoming installment in the franchise, War for the Planet of the Apes; 20th Century Fox and the Jane Goodall Institute partnered to create a rehabilitation centre which will provide care for around 150 rescued chimpanzees in Republic of Congo. Coming to NZ Cinemas on December 26, the new Disney Pixar creation Coco will be a visual feast and packed with top talent in the vocal performance and animation departments; I’m getting really excited to see it. Telling the story of Miguel, a guy who is driven to become a musician and while travelling along the path to his dreams, meets crazy characters and has wild experiences in the land of the dead where he finds out hidden secrets about his family’s past. Starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Edward James Olmos, Cheech Marin and many more, priding itself on having a huge cast of characters from all generations, voiced by an entirely Latino vocal talent cast.

Movie Munchies: Your favourite NZ celebrity chefs will be at The Food Show Auckland this month!
Food is very important to my people. TV cooking shows, movies that focus on food – it’s all wrapped up in there together, as well of course as the treats you snack on while you watch. So with that in mind, I’m definitely hitting up The Food Show Auckland in July to get my snack on and also spot some of New Zealand’s best Celebrity Chefs in action, including; Annabel Langbein, Michael Van de Elzen, Annabelle White, Jonny Schwass, Ray McVinnie, Nicolas Bourgois, Nici Wickes, Simon Gault. Click each Chef’s name to find out there appearance times at the Cooking Theatre at The Food Show Auckland, 27-30 Jul, Thu–Sun 10am–5pm, ASB Showgrounds. For tickets, check it out here.
